About Chiropractic
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a healthcare discipline that emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the structure and function of the body and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In addition, doctors of chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other healthcare practitioners when in the best interest of the patient. Chiropractic diagnostic and therapeutic goals are achieved safely, quickly, and economically to promote patient health and independence.
What can I expect during my appointment?
Chiropractors are expert providers of spinal and other therapeutic manipulation/adjustments. They also utilize a variety of manual, mechanical, and electrical therapeutic modalities. Generally, you lay down on a padded chiropractic table during the manipulation. Your chiropractor may adjust the table throughout to put you in determined positions to treat affected areas, they may also ask you to sit on the table or stand next to it. They will then use their hands (or a small tool) to move your joints. Many people report feeling immediate relief after treatment.
How does it work?
Chiropractic adjustments help realign joints, relieve stiffness and pain, improve and/or restore range of motion, and release tension.
